Here’s some video of my smallest HO locomotive testing the new modified 3-way turnout. See a picture on the Special Trackwork page. You can view it in HD and see the points moving!
This section has 1 out of the four turnouts as full dual gauge, 2 mixed gauge and 1 standard gauge. The crossing from one direction is dual gauge and the other is standard gauge. There is also a transition piece where it brings the narrow gauge from one side to the other. All four turnouts are controlled by one Tortoise Switch Machine. A Digitrax autoreverser controls the power of the frogs on the crossing. The Tortoise controls the power of the frogs in the turnouts. Styrene and wood were both used besides the PC Board for the ties. Weathering still needs to be done. Trains roll through very smoothly. Click on the picture for a larger view.
